As the restrictions are lifted, so too are our spirits. Slowly, slowly things are getting back to how they were before we found ourselves in this pandemic. Face masks will be with us for a while yet, and hand sanitiser will continue to be on our shopping lists, but we’re getting there!

There’s a feeling of optimism in the articles from each of our three churches. Isn’t it great to meet up with people as more of us are getting back to church – we’ll even be having coffee …. soon!

This month we have a wide variety of interesting contributions. Fr Geoff reminds us of the journey we take through the church year and Fr Mark has some interesting thoughts on photographs. With Prince Philip’s passing in mind, Ruth tells us of the St John’s bell-ringers tribute and John Berry gives us an insight into the man  himself through reminiscences of a royal visit. David Parry focuses us on a more sombre subject, although Jean Flower’s reminder of Spike Milligan’s poem will, no doubt, make us all smile.

Thank you to everyone who contributes, it is much appreciated, by me as editor, but most of all by our readers. (If you pop something in the post, please include your name – I’m sorry, I don’t always recognise the writing!)

I hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as I have enjoyed  putting it together. We’re always looking for new contributors – just a one-off story is great. So if you have some news, stories or snippets, we’d love to have them. All contributions for the June issue (can you believe it, June already!!) to me by 25th May, please.

Stay safe,
Until next time,
Helen Murdoch
