Weekly Sheet 13 September 2020

Click here for this week’s Weekly Sheet.

Firstly, the ‘rule of six’ does NOT apply to worship in Church – as our seating is socially distanced (enforced by Dr Parry’s big stick in St David’s) we can carry on as we have been.

It is important that you complete the ‘Track and Trace’ form, sanitize on entering and leaving and avoid huddles. We need to keep and remain safe.

Please bring and wear masks. Despite the joy of hearing the organ we will return to using recorded hymns until freer times.

Our repair programme nears its end for this year, with only a few items outstanding. The Schoolroom has been repointed on two sides and the boundary wall between us and Rose Cottage made good.

The damaged floor has been repaired in St David’s. The sound system in All Saints has received its final tweaks, just awaiting now the fitting of the woofer. Most of the cost of this has been met by a legacy from the late Celia Field.

There will be general autumn tidying in the gardens in October but our buildings are generally in good shape.

We livestreamed a funeral for the first time this week, courtesy of Fr Mark. So far this has reached over 8,000 people, a sign of how a wider community can be reached.

Our daily broadcasts regularly reach over 100 views.

Remember that the Annual Vestry meeting is on 30th September in All Saints. Please return your electoral roll forms and make nominations for the Parish Council , warden and Sub-wardens.

It is a matter of deep regret that Mr David Philpot has decided, after his recent illness, not to stand for election. He must hold a record for time in office and has given us so much over many years.

A reminder, too, of the efficiency of Gift Direct as a way of giving – please contact David Parry on 01656 784211 for more details.

Maggie and I are away from Monday for two weeks, so please contact Fr Mark on 07791 730499 or Fr Geoff on 07903 669247.

Technology permitting the office phone will go through to Fr Mark.

There will be no Saturday Mass after tomorrow until 3rd October, but Fr Geoff will be livestreaming from his home at 09.30.

Keep safe, stay well.
Every blessing,
Fr Philip
