September is a time of new beginnings. In many respects, this year is no different and yet, oh so different! At last our churches are open again for worship “almost as usual”! And we’re all beginning to settle a little and adapt to this new world.
The summer hasn’t been as busy as usual, although the mixed bag of weather is all-too-familiar! However, it has given us time to refresh and reflect – something echoed in this month’s magazine. Thank you to all our contributors – it’s a delight to hear from our faithful regulars and to welcome some new faces too.
There are quite a number of congratulations – to our exam achievers, to two diamond wedding anniversary couples and to Fr Philip on receiving a well-deserved community award. Fr Geoff gives us his reflections on ordination and his touring First Eucharist. And we are delighted to welcome Fr Mark with his first magazine contribution. There’s a fond farewell to Fr Keith for all his help and support over these last few years – you will be missed.
It’s lovely to have news from our three churches – what a difference it makes to see each other again and to share experiences. Once more we have the joy of Marj’s cousin’s letters, and John Berry gives us something to ponder on. Several contributors have provided us with poems they’ve come across – all quite different, but extremely apt for the current times.
So grab a cuppa, settle down for a few minutes and flick through the pages.
I look forward to your contributions for the October issue (to me by 25th Sept please) – email me, call me or pop them in the post.
Stay safe and have a sensational September!
P.S. Since the magazine has been prduced, the Rector has been presented with his Community Award – click here more details and a lovely photo!
